It was announced on the official website of the committee that Mr. Kimihiko Nakamura, chairman of the committee executive committee, passed away on April 26th.

Mr. Nakamura was undergoing treatment for cancer. On the official website, Nakamura expressed his gratitude and said, ``It was Nakamura's greatest hope that future committee schedules would not be affected and that the committee would continue forever.'

The ``Chairman Kimihiko Nakamura's interaction space'' that was planned for COMITIA 156 is being considered for implementation after changing the content. According to Mr. Nakamura's wishes before death, the funeral will be held as a private funeral with only close relatives.

Mr. Nakamura was born in Tokyo in 1961. While still in school, he became an editorial staff member of the manga information magazine Puff (Weed Publishing), and served as the magazine's editor-in-chief from 1988 until his retirement in 1993.
In 1984, he participated in the establishment of the creative doujinshi exhibition and sale committee. He will serve as the executive committee representative from the following year. Komitia is an on-sale event specializing in original works, and is also known as the place where many artists who are currently active as professionals nurtured their talents before making their debut, and Mr. Nakamura received the Distinguished Achievement Award at the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2014.
