Kasumi Yasuda's 'Fool Night' has been made into an anime by Sunrise and Shaft. A teaser visual, teaser PV, and Yasuda's commemorative illustration for the anime adaptation have been released. Kouki Uchiyama will play the role of Toshiro Kamiya, Minako Kotobuki will play the role of Yomiko Horai, and Atsuyuki Yukawa will be the director. The setting of 'Fool Night' is Earth in the far future, where thick clouds block out sunlight and it is only winter and night. Most of the plants had withered away, and humanity, suffering from a lack of oxygen, was able to obtain a small amount of oxygen through the technique of 'bloom rolling,' which involves implanting seeds into the bodies of people who are close to death and turning them into plants. Toshiro, a young man who suffers from poverty and has lost hope, decides to undergo the 'flower-turning' treatment and become a 'reika,' a plant that transforms into a human. Toshiro undergoes the treatment despite the opposition of his childhood friend Yomiko, but as he acquires unexpected abilities, he becomes embroiled in various commotions.
