Tsuguo Mogami will play the role of Jiro Shima and Minori Suzuki will play the role of Siren in the animated movie 'The Secret of Chiikawa Mermaid Island' based on Nagano's original work. A 90-second trailer video and opening theme information have been released.

Jiro Shima, played by Mogami, is the owner of Shima Jiro, a store that Chikawa found deep in the forest. The siren played by Suzuki is a character who has the mysterious power of singing and attacks the islanders for some reason. The Storyline of Chiikawa the Movie

The 90-second trailer features all the characters. Chiikawa is confused when the islanders give her a sasumata, Hachiware is determined to protect the island, Usagi stands up to the sirens and mermaids with 'binyoyo,' and Shima Jiro is eating curry. Additionally, the opening theme has been decided to be a new song, 'Kutsuzure,' written by Nagano and sung by Hachiware, played by Masato Tanaka.

'Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island', which will be released on July 24th, is a film adaptation of one of the original's longest episodes, commonly known as the 'Siren Edition,' under the full supervision of the original author Nagano. Chiikawa and his friends are warmly welcomed on the island, and just as they are enjoying sightseeing, they are asked to subdue sirens that are attacking the islanders.
